Tamang Heritage

This is a unique place where you can see the modernized Tibetan culture. Trekking in Nepal is not only for trekking but also for experiencing the diversity of cultural norms and values. Tamang who are migrated long time before from the Kerung (Tibet) settled in Nepal. On that time it is easy to get Nepali citizenship for real Tibetans. Later they change their ethnicity to Tamang. That was the trade place for salt and Sheep's for meat batter with food grains.

"Tamang Heritage Trail" is the newly developed tourism product developed by Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program. Off the beaten track, this highlights an ancient lifestyle combining it with picturesque scenery and healing baths in natural hot springs.

Tamang rituals, Tibetan culture, festivals, traditional architecture, costumes, local Syabru - Mane & other dances (Goljung and Gatlang VDCs) are the main highlights of this trek.

Beyond the culture, there is a view point at Goljung Pass, from where views of Langtang and Kerung (Tibet) can be awe inspiring. In this village we can buy exclusive handicraft items like traditional caps, mufflers and other handmade items. Hot spring is also one of the highlights in this trek. Tourist can take a deep bath with hot spring water (water contains a lot of mineral that heals your tired body and removes your pain,)

You will welcome by Tamang hospitality at Briddim and home stay facility in 24 houses. We will spend our one night at there for experience of the home stay culture.
